A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent addresses under the exact same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive emails from buddies or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

In case you’ve got a cloud website hosting plan with us and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a particular e-mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally just a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can pick one single email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature right away, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with several clicks of the mouse if you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered through our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes under any domain name hosted there. To enable the catch-all option for a particular mailbox, you will need to click on the logo with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this functionality can be accomplished in the exact same way and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all option has already been enabled for a specific domain name, you will get a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never change or deactivate any feature automatically.
